You mean a legit client.dll right?

If so, I can do it.

OK, I replaced the client.dll with the one that came with razor's rls and it's working now with the loader by Stryder. Thanks.
(although steam is not running, so I guess this is a no-steam version)

But no crashes with melee attack and friendly fire to team mates. Hope it lasts. :)

Type this in console:

  1. setinfo name "your name here"

Put it in autoexec.cfg file then in left4dead2\left4dead2\cfg folder. It will launch everytime you launch the game.

BTW, I just finished the first chapter without a crash... but as soon as the next chapter started, it crashed with some runtime c++ error. My c++ runtime package is up to date.

Gona try again and see if I can reproduce the crash or try restarting the chapter from game menu.

Sorry, my bad. I missed the "every round" bit. You're right. I didn't realise name disappears at end of round. :o

And yeh, starting the second chapter from game menu didn't produce a crash. So I don't know why I got a runtime error when starting chapter 2 after finishing chapter 1. Maybe it was random. Don't want to play chapter 1 again so someone else could confirm.

Crash to desktop on each mapchange (using Win7 32-bit)

Aha! So it wasn't only me then.
I'm only on chapter 2 and I experienced a crash when going from chapter 1 to chapter 2.
I'm using win7 32bit as well.

autoexec.cfg is quite handy for keyboard binds but when possible i would suggest using server.cfg and listenserver.cfg files as well for your setups to keep autoexec.cfg as clean as possible. server.cfg will be executed only by srcds.exe, and listenserver.cfg only when hosting a lan game with your L4D2 client.

basic server.cfg
  1. hostname "L4D2 DEDICATED"
  2. st_allow_lobby_only_connect 0
  3. sv_lan 0

basic listenserver.cfg
  1. hostname "L4D2 LAN"
  2. st_allow_lobby_only_connect 0
  3. sv_lan 1

also you may chose a custom name for your cfg file and use the exec cmd to launch the whole thing on demand.
  1. +exec "somefile.cfg" (from cmd line while launching game or server)
  2. exec "somefile.cfg" (from console or from within another cfg file! ie: from within autoexec/server/listenserver or )

Thanks for the info. I agree you should keep autoexec.xfg as clean as possible, but it's easier to tell someone to put a code in autoexec.cfg. That's why a lot of guides out there just dump everything in autoexec, something which I never do. I like to keep each group of code in separate files depending on their use.

I played using the The Loader and it works PERFECT except for those small bugs i mentioned below, multiplayer also works(at least in Coop for me).

I finished WHOLE game using The Loader, no crashes at all, everything works.

Going to be playing with my friend over hamachi this entire game using The Loader, gonna do some more testing with Multiplayer modes IF i find time, i highly doubt it thou.

GOOD WORK, YOU ROCK, you should share this loader thingy with Revolution team, theyre taking too long with the new steam protection LOL.

Bugs:
1. Name goes back to original either "unnamed" with 2.0.0.1 Patch or " razor1911"(not sure how much space) with razor patch after loading new map, also when player joins in game over Hamachi he gets same thing(he is also using the loader))
(plus the name seems to contain spaces(when pressing TAB) in front but not when communicating in game)

2. Crashes when i exit the game(left 4 dead 2.exe has stopped working)

Installed following before starting the game:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)
Net Framework 4 Beta 2

Software:
Left 4 Dead 2 with Razor and another 2.0.0.1 update

System:
Windows 7 64-bit with Latest Hotfixes
GIGABYTE EP45-UD3R
Geforce 9800GTX+ with 195.62 drivers

I have been playing all 5 campaigns with a friend without a single crash to desktop, all weapons working, everything working with other words.

Tutorial (Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit)

1. Download Left 4 Dead 2 Razor 1911
2. Install properly, wait for installer to install all ~20100 files before closing installation.
3. Install the "rzr-init.exe" crack located inside the Left 4 Dead 2 folder you just installed it too. (Example: C:\Left 4 Dead 2\rzr-init.exe)
4. Download "Left4Dead2.Loader.Stryder.rar" (http://www.multiupload.com/XSU3OPBCM0)
5. Unpack "Left4Dead2.Loader.Stryder.rar" too your Left 4 Dead 2 folder. (Example: C:\Left 4 Dead 2\)
6. Download "IniGen.rar" (download/file.php?id=9399)
7. Download "Update.rar" (download/file.php?id=9393)
8. Unpack "IniGen.rar" and "Update.rar" too your Left 4 Dead 2 folder. (Example: C:\Left 4 Dead 2\)
9. Run "IniGen.exe", you should see a cmd window appear and close within a second, then you're done.
10. Open "config.cfg" using Wordpad located inside Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\cfg
11. Locate the line: "bind "F5" "screenshot" (Row 37 using Notepad ++), now you Replace the line with this: "bind "F12" "toggleconsole"
12. Start your game by running "Start Left 4 Dead 2.bat" inside your Left 4 Dead 2 folder.
13. Enter Options/Keyboard and Mouse, enable "Allow Developer Console", now restart your game.
14. You should now have an console up when you start the game, if not.. press "F12"

Online Host
1. Be connected to Hamachi
2. Start your game
3. In the console, enter these commands:
net_start
sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0
sv_lan 0
4. To start an Campaign game, enter these commands:
map c1m1_hotel
5. To start an Survival game, enter these commands:
map c1m4_atrium survival

Online Player
1. Be connected to Hamachi
2. Start your game
3. In the console, enter this command:

I have been playing all 5 campaigns with a friend without a single crash to desktop, all weapons working, everything working with other words.
