CS.RIN.RU - Steam Underground Community

So I was reading hCUPa's thing about how steam works and thought about that idea how the mIRC trick works. Since it is the case, that steam maybe won't be able to acces the ClientRegistry.blob because mIRC has it already open.

So I wrote a little simple program with Pascal, an old scoding language. It simple opens the ClientRegistry.blob and then when u close it again by pushing Enter twice, it closes it. Maybe this will work. If not please post comments.

Just simple extract the files into your CSS folder (where hl2.exe is) and use the .exe (css.exe) before yostart the game.

it doesn't work. It keeps saying it can't access the blob.

I didnt think of that. or I didnt think that would happen. It doesnt let you open the game, becuase it can't open the blob file, because something is already using it. I will try to update the program, just hold up!

there are also scripts & stuff to "force quit" the steamapp, i dunno... u can also try to make that file multi-accessible or something.

You shouldnt be able to even launch css. Maybe per launcher or so. But when i started css and then opened thjef ile. It connected to the server up to 2 bars and then it just disconnected itself, so we g2 try patch that ClientRegistry.blob, becuase that is our only open and direct way to the steam connection.

why are you posting .exe that dont work? coz of the file lock? cant you test that on your own.

i hope there isnt a trojan in that proggie
