I have the russian version and all I did was 1st do all the steps here:

then I it gave me an error after the safe mode message in (blackops.exe) EXE_CANNOT_FIND_ZONE

then open steam and minimize it and go to your blackops folder and run the sp or the mp

note: my mp can't connect because I don't have the key so I need another crack for mp

also I´ve deleted the localized russian files in the main folder
all the texts are in english and also the audio

64 BIT reg file for black ops (Made by Sentroy) If you have a 64 bit system, this is the registry file to register black ops. i have not tested it yet but i was told it would help out the 64bit users with problems.
If you still have problems, double check that you have removed the russian folder and files from step 9

The first step after downloading is make sure your files are extracted.
1. If you have a bunch of rar files, extract with winrar or winzip etc.if you have an mdf and mds file,perfect! skip to step 2
(you should end up with a mdf and an mds file either way)

2. using magiciso, poweriso, or a similar program, open the mdf file, and extract all files inside to a folder of your choice ( this is not where the game will end up so exract where ever youd like to work from)
a. You should have around 19 files including sid files and a sim file,among others, and a resources folder containing more files.

3. Create a Black Ops folder wherever you intend on installing the game (do not create in your steam directory for safety purposes (dont want to get your steam acct banned!)

4.run Pheonix 1.4, then
a. select the instruments pulldown menu from the menubar and select the 'SID unpacker' tool.
b. click the ... next to where it says sim-file to browse for the sim file, callofduty-blackopscd1.SIM , which is located wherever you extracted the files from the mdf( game disc) in step 2 to(the 19 or so files with the resources folder)
1)select callofduty-blackopscd1.SIM and click the 'open' button (you should now see the path to this file written in the previously blank spot next to where it says SIM-file on the SID unpacker pheonix page)
c. click the ... next to where is says Desination folder to browse to your Black Ops folder that we created in step 3.
1)Select Black Ops directory and click 'ok' (you should now see the path to this written in the previously blank spot next to where it says Destination folder on the SIDunpacker page in pheonix)
d. from the instruments pulldown menubar at the top of the program, select updatecontentdescriptionrecord->Internet (must be connected to internet)
1)wait for the program to connect to its download site and update the contentdescriptionrecord.
e. click the 'Scan a SIM-file' button ( you should see several lines of text appear)
f. click the 'Select all' button ( it automatically should select two files, callofdutyblackopscontent.ncf and callofdutyblackopsrussian.ncf)
g. click 'unpack' button ( it will start unpacking all files to the blackops directory
1) this will take anywhere from 5-20 minutes depending on your computer

(if there are any errors with pheonix you might have had another version already installed, or it may have not installed correctly.Reinstall and that should fix it(right click and run as administrator for win7 and vista) restart and reinstall if you still get an error)


5. You now have your black ops folder filled with files and folders, but it still needs to be cracked, added to the registry, and changed to english.

6. If your COD BO crack is zipped, unzip or unrar it. (there should be 9 files and 2 folders in the main directory of the crack, including a black ops.reg file, among others)
a. select all files in the crack directory and copy/cut them
b. open the Black ops folder( your game directory from step 3) and paste(copy/merge) the files/folders there, overwriting any files/folders that it asks

******* I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS NEXT STEP IS NOT NESSESARY, and that people have gotten it working without adding it to the registry. Your choice i guess

7. inside of the black ops directory, locate and execute(run) the black ops.reg file. If it asks you to approve of it adding the values to the registry, press ok/yes.

********* If you have 64 bit, get the 64 bit reg file and try it****


8. You now have a cracked game that is registered and can be played, but it will be in russian!Proceed to the next step if youd like to continue converting it to English

9. Before converting the files to english from russian, we first need to delete a few files.
a. goto the Black ops directory (created step 3) and open the 'main' folder
b. locate and delete these files -
localized_Russian_iw00.iwd
localized_Russian_iw01.iwd
localized_Russian_iw02.iwd
localized_Russian_iw03.iwd
localized_Russian_iw04.iwd
localized_Russian_iw05.iwd
c. Then return to the black ops folder, and open the 'zone' folder
1)select the 'Russian' folder and delete it (the whole folder)

10.Now locate the codborussiantoenglish.exe and extract to a directory of your choice (only temporary)
a. rightclick and choose extract if you have winrar or
double click the exe to run it and extract the files;
1) click accept
2) click 'browse', choose a directory to temporarily extract the files to, then click ok
3)click install to extract all the files to that temp directory you just selected

b. locate the files you just extracted or installed from codborussiantoenglish.exe and copy them to the black ops main directory;
1)open the 'call of duty black ops' folder, select all the files inside(two files and two folders) and copy/cut
2)then open the 'black ops' game folder (created step 3) right click and paste(copy) the files, overwriting and merging any files/folders it asks you to

11. Play





OPTIONAL STEP - Get rid of russian audio from the cutscenes

Finally if you want to change the audio from the cutscene videos from russian to english here are the video files from the SKIDROW release of COD Black Ops. These are ONLY the videos and they are in ENGLISH Just replace the Russian videos with these. Extract into your "main/video" folder.

Can i just say, that replacing just the video folder, does not make the cut scenes voices in english!

I'm pretty sure the level files in zone/common have the voices in them...

Or do the .bik files determine the voice language?

Just answered my own question, replacing the .bik's worked. But for some reason the voices are really quite. :/

turn the subtitles on and you can see what is said.. i dont know why they are so quite.

and as far as getting it to work, im on win 7 64 and if you follow my guide, import the 64 bit registry key, install the skidrow crack and then click 'YES' when you start the game up,
it then works fine

Hello, I'd like to request an assistance.

I bought the russian key, and now im trying to turn it into english.

here's what i have done

used skidrow english files.. copied it into steam folder.. and vertified the whole thingy,

problem is that the multiplayer part works fine, but the singleplayer, tries to download russian files, every time i try to play it,
and if i let it.. it also turns my multiplayer part to russian, even if i have select the languange on mp to english.

If theres any way i could fix this, could u care to tell me.

I have tried some of the above steps(russian to english), but with no success.

I am only interested in the zombie part of the singleplayer

ok so i bought the Russian key for BO..
i converted it to english..and everything worked perfectly ..
the game runs smooth and everything is fine except 1 thing,,,

the is no ingame sound..lemme give u an example..
when the match start..
a guy says..
"SND destroy the objective"
"friendly rc xd spotted"
"our spy plane in the air"

yeah these voices are not there.. ..

i think i m missing those files...so can anyone help me..the game is kinda boring without these voices..
really need the those files..
