| Post subject: | Problem - Faceposer and lip syncs [L4D2] |
Just a quick question to anyone who uses Faceposer or likes to mess around with the Authoring Tools... In Faceposer, are the characters' mouths/lips moving with the audio when you load any random scene? I'm just curious since I haven't been able to get this problem fixed for L4D2. What's weird too is that after applying the last few updates for L4D2 and rebuilding the sound cache lip syncs don't even work anymore in the actual game itself. Characters still have facial expressions, but their mouths don't move to the WAV files. If the lip syncs are working for you guys, I can then safely say this problem may have been caused by repacked updates and/or crappy original release... Anyways my excuse for using these repacked updates (or whatever you'd call them) is because of a really tight bandwidth limit, and I've already wasted a gig today trying to get this sorted. I've even tried getting SmartSteam to update/validate the game by putting all the L4D2 files in /SteamApps/common/left 4 dead 2/, but the idea of NCF files are pretty new to me and I'm trying to wrap my head around how they work. Currently my L4D2 kinda relies on GaNi's repacked updates and therefore doesn't have NCF files, so I tried to hunt some up, put them in /SteamApps/common and get cracked Steam to update them, but that was extremely hacky and I doubt it was professional... if that's the right word. =/ Anyways at the end I was able to launch both L4D2 and the Authoring Tools via cracked Steam but it didn't seem to fix the lip sync issue... both in Faceposer and in-game. Sorry for any confusion, thanks in advance. * Edit: I also posted a thread here like 2 hrs ago: http://gaming-extreme.info/index.php?/t ... lip-syncs/ The guy says that Valve disabled lip syncs...? I'm not saying I don't believe him but it doesn't sound right? |
