Hi guys... I am new here. I just downloaded Dead Space 2 and wondered why I got a Black screen after launching the deadspace2.exe(cracked). Any ideas guys??? I searched around Google and found that there is a settings.txt which they said can solve this issue in C:/Users/User Name/AppData/Local/Electronic Arts/Dead Space But inside there I found nothing. Completely empty. Which is useless for me. I did create a settings.txt inside it but still not working. Help!!!??

thats because its located: in Windows7 C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\EA Games\Dead Space 2\settings.txt in XP C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\EA Games\Dead Space 2\settings.txt |

So if it is not generated. How am I supposed to edit the settings.txt? Mine is at C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\EA Games\Dead Space 2. Not solved yet

update video card drivers to latest version, make sure firewall not blocking access to internet. go read up on games forum to see if others have had this issue -- Edit -- IF you want to cut down the size of the game itself you can delete the files for the languages you dont want: DS2DAT0.dat & DS2DAT1.dat files are for ENG / FRA DS2DAT2.dat & DS2DAT3.dat files are for GER/RU DS2DAT4.dat & DS2DAT5.dat files are for SPA/ITA Just make sure to delete the Movies folder ( languages you dont want too!) |

Win7 uses system links. Look at the icon of the "Documents and Settings" folder. It's a link, it points to "C:\Users". The same for "Local Settings", which points to "AppData\Local". |
