hi,

using vanilla steam / smartsteam i am not able to add any friends anymore.
it tells me, i would need to have any games on my account.
my previously added friends are still shown, and others are able to add me still.
vanilla steam shows me few games that are enabled in the games list (zero gear demo, alienbreed impact (external install), ...).
it used to work... didn't add friends for a while - no idea when it stoped working.

any idea whats wrong?

Steam says it all. "You need to own games on your Steam account to add Friends."

Playing Demos/free games does not count. You need to purchase at least one game to add friends on Steam. No Steam crack can fix this issue for you.

As far as I know it's been like hegyak said for a long while already. You need to own at least one paid game to be able to use that function. Thankfully I took advantage of that nVidia promo and got HL2:DM and Lost Coast in my account.

Steam also disabled the "In game status" for cracked players.
AFAIK, this cannot be fixed.

I think empty accounts couldn't add friends since October 2009.

well i thought its a bug, since the last friend added was around 15th Nov 2010....

it worked after i used the AMD/ATI-HL2-activation i think.


The AI War keygen does not give me an unused key to activate...

and for the polish dark m. key, my registration request has to be approved by the admin... sill pending
