Hello, guys. I recently implemented the feature into Phoenix's RAIN CFManager to make special *.update.gcf files which not only include updated files but also the missing ones. Here I post the special format file that has information about missing files as well. Please, test it and if the update system will prove itself to be stable, post the .update.gcf link. Your help would be much appreciated by others as well, I think.
I have unpacked the Homefront ISO just like others and those who can create such a patch out of a full game would do a great job for many people.
To create patch (link to the *.PhxManifest file)
- Download the Phoenix in the topic (or click on banner in my signature)
- Unpack it somewhere (not to Program Files, please) and launch
- Update Content Description Record via Internet (Instruments)
- Go to menu item Main -> RAIN CF Manager
- Scroll down to your Homefront content.ncf (it should be version 5) and select it
- Press "Patches^" button and there select "Make Update"
- Browse to the saved *.PhxManifest and open it
