the hl2 background is not moving for me either, just shows that blurry pic like when its loading.

sometimes it takes awhile, especially the first time...if not, defrag your pc a couple of times, make sure your using directx9c and latest vid card drivers; scan for ad-ware and viruses, run disk-clean-up, then restart pc....

that is because you have the console enabled, duh :wink:

* if you want an animated background on start-up (HL2 ONLY) do NOT add "-console" to your game shortcut.

* else, if having the console is more important than the animated background, leave the "-console" in the shortcut.

d4rkm4nx your fix works great but in the persuit of making it n00b friendly u musta fucked up where the steam.dll file goes. when i used your autoextracter it put steam.dll in a "Bin" folder, and there is no "Bin" folder for hl. so just have it extract steam.dll to the current dir where hl.exe is and it works fine.

dunno if there is a "bin" folder with the mods, i never used 'em

again, i just moved the steam.dll that gets extracted by your extractor from the "Bin" folder it was in to the directory where hl.exe is

awesome job on the fixes, keep up the good work

I dont quite know what on earth u r on about, I dont have any console shit on my shortcut :x

u missunderstand me, i mean its still showing the blurry screen, when the menu has appeared already. this never happened with hcpua's
