there are so many updates that i don't know which one to use, i've read most of your thread but still don't get which one to use for the newly updated (10 Jan 2005) GCFs, the Emu2.50 doesn't work :(
please help, 56k doen't mix with going online just for SP games :( ppatcher (v5) don't work when in offline mode.

yep...but the most universal time stamp is:

month/day/year

01/10/05

Yeh, all forums are anti-UK, they should all be date/month/year

Post subject:

Well that's for forums only - like I said, the "true" international format is day month year.... but whatever    no biggie

well that could be confusing, in some cases like when posted:

update as of 10/3/04

is this october 3rd or march 10th?

so its better if u say 10th of march or march 10th

sorry - by Day Month Year I meant:

<day in number format, eg. 10> <month printed out, e.g. January> <year in numbers, e.g. 2005>

So.... it's like 10 January 2005.

yeah, thats the way it should be, right now its easy either way cuz the year just started

yeah, yeah, yeah, what ever, i live in UK and i'll continue to use the DD_MM_YYYY methord. and that's also why i said 10th Jan 2005.

anyway, i've read that before i post (im not a n0ob) and i can't download the "New H3llBoSS GCF Installer ", that's why im asking for a new one or a simple command line one.

Steam-down is trying make the offline mode working, and ppatcher v5 from Hupc (or something like that, sorry) doesn't support offline mode, i've tryed

i've also read the toturial on emu2.63 and there's only HL1 installer :( i kknow most of the toturial and all i need is an extractor!!!!

btw, nice toturial

Try H3llboss's gcf installer (sticky)

i've found the emulators: Emu2.63 and it gave me the same error as the 2.5 gave me...... error unpacking the first file (not "steam.org")

but i've solved that problem by using this "h97_ven" skin's batch files (pretty old, got it before christmas, forgot where got it from, sorry) i was extreamly surpieced when it worked!!! except when i run it, winXP's error (illegal operation, closed down the game without starting it)
then (here's the cleaver part!!! :P ) i just copyed the "steam.dll" from your Emu2.63 into my "bin" filder, edited the "steam.ini" and most things works like a charm!!!!

so if anyone wants this thingy, i can RAR it and post it here, you'll have to know how to edit the "steam.ini" and get "steam.dll" yourself.
