Post subject:  Steam-Down Questions

Because the Steam-Down topic has gotten way out of control with many pages and pages i have decided to post a topic about some questions.

1. Does Steam-Down download GCFs off Steam and run it directly off the GCF like an emulator or does it extract it and then run it off there?
2. Is Steam-Down exactly like Steam except its free?
3. Does Steam-Down automatically get updates off Steam?
4. Can i change the Steam-Down skin and will it still work if i do?
5. Are there any bugs as of now?
6. Should i use Steam-Down or the old way of downloading Non-Steam-Online?

Answer theses for me and i'll be most appreciated.
:D

File comment: And for those people that get errors when extracting GCFS, maybe u have an outdated version, here's the latest one i think that still works.

Now i'm currently downloading Condition-Zero off Steam-Down ok? And it shows CS, CZ, HL all in my games. So i click on CZ and its updating even though i'm updating the GCFS. But then i noticed that some of the CZ files have been extracted to SteamApps/ ( My User ). Because its extracted, can i delete all GCFS except Platform and would it still work?

EDIT: Also, is Steam-Down the best program to play Valve games for free as of right now?

no..of course not, why would u want to do that? it wont run w/o the gcf, the whole point of the program is to run of hte gcf so u dont have to extract thw whole gcf. it only automatically extracts certain files, those r the ones you see in the folder
