so many ppl cry about update 9 and the problem with down-steam or six-steam. so i give u this little guid. it worke for 4 very well.
i extracted the files:
counter-strike source shared.gcf
counter-strike source_german.gcf (no must have)
platform.gcf
source dedicated server.gcf
source engine.gcf
source materials.gcf
source models.gcf
source sounds.gcf
extract all to one folder. look that you have a platform folder in the root.
then i copyed the folder bin and cstrike\bin from the emproio v1.8.1 relese to the new folder. make a shortcut to desktop, add "-steam -console -game cstrike" to the link and start it.
works fine. no texture problems, working bots with menu and the new map works also too. online play is also ok (must be the same version)
the version ist still 2229 but works like the new one.
