Post subject:  CS Source, LAN, No internet, official GCFs
Ive got cs source on steam with the official gcfs. When i play on lans i don't have net access so i cant update if there's been a newer version and offline mode don't always work :(

I wanna ditch steam and just run cs source on the lan. Its easiest for to extract the gcfs that i got directly off steam so i can get updated content, but i dont know what to extract or what cracks to apply.

I dont want to download the whole of cs source. I dont need to be able to play online. I just want a directoty copyable version so every player has the same version and can click the program and play a lan game.

1. just create a folder called css
2. extract source engine.gcf, counter strike source client.gcf and counterstrike shared.gcf to the css folder
3. create a folder in css folder and call it platform
4. extract platform.gcf to platform folder
5. d/l emporio update #6
6. extract update #6 to desktop
7. open up the update folder that was created when u extracted , move the files in the file folder only...to your css folder.
8. d/l emporio update #7
9. extract update #7 to desktop
10. open up the update #7 folder, and move the bin folder(it might be inside file folder)to your css folder
11. make shortcut of hl2.exe
12. right click on shortcut, click on properties and in the target line, add -game cstrike, so it will look like this:

........./hl2.exe" -game cstrike

13. run steam
14. copy clientregistryblob from steam folder and paste it in your css folder
15. shut down steam
16. click on shortcut
