By the way, Fasi, you mentioned opening rev.ini and remove the following lines to fix the minor bug (with some side-effect): [External] "SteamMatchMakingServers"=revSrvBrowser.dll SteamMatchMakingServers=revSrvBrowser.dll "SteamMatchMaking"=revSrvBrowser.dll
It looks the first line is exactly the same as the second line, notwithstanding the quote around SteamMatchMakingServers. So, is the 2nd line redundant or not?

@cjohn124 Yes it is same and will not cause any problems.
@lespaul Actually it was impossible to pack client and server (in on single folder) with different build 4554 and 5408 respectively as HLDS build 5408 uses different steam API. HLDS is indeed outdated but all know exploits have been fixed so there is no need for updated version. For your info I've also used a modified metamod in this release. Can you provide me the link of modified metamod which you are using?
@002 It uses revEmu 9.80RC2

when i use this release to create a Lan game, my friend who use p47ver. cannot connect to my sever

What I meant is, could your friend connect to your lan server, if he also uses the client of this 1.3 release? As far as I know, this release doesn't ensure any other client can connect to a server created by it. Better use the same release for both server and client. Or, better use this release for the client end. This way, you can connect to either P47 or P48 server. -- Edit -- Fasi, My testing shows that the "External" section at the head of rev.ini can be reduced to the following two lines: -

- SteamMatchMaking=revSrvBrowser.dll

When you create a listen server (New Game) with this release it will only allow P48 clients. You can do any of the following options: 1) Ask you friend to create the server (New Game) and then you can connect to his P47 server with this P48 client. 2) Or Run CS dedicated server and it will allow both P47 and P48 clients. 3) Or you can use this same release on both sides. -- Edit -- @cjohn124 OK Thanks will do next time.

Just did another series of testings, and found that the lines of External section in rev.ini cannot be reduced. - [External]
- SteamMatchMakingServers=revSrvBrowser.dll
- SteamMatchMaking=revSrvBrowser.dll
Looks like if I edit rev.ini like the above, the servers I have already added into Favorite can't show up if I click the Internet tab then switch back to Favorite. Even if I changed rev.ini like below, it still didn't work for Favorite. - [External]
- "SteamMatchMakingServers"=revSrvBrowser.dll
- "SteamMatchMaking"=revSrvBrowser.dll
Not until I fully restored the rev.ini to the original status, e.g. - [External]
- "SteamMatchMakingServers"=revSrvBrowser.dll
- SteamMatchMakingServers=revSrvBrowser.dll
- "SteamMatchMaking"=revSrvBrowser.dll
did the Favorite worked well. It looks the quoted line and the unquoted line are both necessary. Since you know server browser far better than I do, could you find out why it requires two almost identical lines in rev.ini? And perhaps you want to do some testings to double-check. So I must say sorry here that I provided the wrong information to you last night.

Actually there are two separate server browser implemented in this release at the same time. 1) Build-in server browser in Steam client (steamclient_orig.dll) [ Can list only P48 server in favorites ] 2) Additional external server browser (revSrvBrowser.dll) [ Can list all servers but shows cracked server (with dproto) as VAC insecure] - [External]
- "SteamMatchMakingServers"=revSrvBrowser.dll
- SteamMatchMakingServers=revSrvBrowser.dll
- "SteamMatchMaking"=revSrvBrowser.dll
If I removes above code server browser still works because of build-in server browser until I comment the following line. - #ClientDLL=steamclient_orig.dll
So, I comment it and do some tests - [External]
- SteamMatchMakingServers=revSrvBrowser.dll
- SteamMatchMaking=revSrvBrowser.dll
Above code doesn't work - [External]
- "SteamMatchMakingServers"=revSrvBrowser.dll
- "SteamMatchMaking"=revSrvBrowser.dll
But this code works fine for me but not for you. - [External]
- "SteamMatchMakingServers"=revSrvBrowser.dll
- SteamMatchMakingServers=revSrvBrowser.dll
- "SteamMatchMaking"=revSrvBrowser.dll
This works for every one and is already present in rev.ini, so I'll not modify rev.ini Also do check the following line must be present in rev.ini for listen servers to be visible under LAN tab. - ClientDLL=steamclient_orig.dll
May be that was the reason for listen servers not to be visible to you under LAN tab

I don't know why the below lines didn't work the other day. But today, I did another testing, and this time it works for me. - [External]
- "SteamMatchMakingServers"=revSrvBrowser.dll
- "SteamMatchMaking"=revSrvBrowser.dll
So, I think you are in a safe position to remove the unquoted line (SteamMatchMakingServers=revSrvBrowser.dll ) in this External section. By the way, this is the only section that I manipulated in this release, and I didn't change the following line: So I think my lan tab problem isn't because of this. It remains mysterious.

OK That's good next time I'll remove this extra line.
BTW It is NOT SteamDll=Steam_orig.dll It is ClientDLL=steamclient_orig.dll
