About The Game
The human race has finally mastered faster-than-light travel opening up the stars for exploration and colonization. As the leader of the newly formed Terran Alliance, you will guide humanity's expansion into becoming a space-based civilization. Soon, you will discover that we are not alone. Alien civilizations with their own histories and motivations are expanding as well. Research new technology, design starships, negotiate trade and treaties, wage wars, colonize new worlds, construct starbases in the largest 4X strategy game ever made. And when you've finished that, play again as one of the many included alien civilizations each with its own history, technology tree, ship components and more.

NEVER THE SAME GAME TWICE

Each new game offers an array of options as you set it up - choose your map size, abundance of planets and resources, frequency of events, and more for a unique play experience every time. Galactic Civilizations III also removes linear victory conditions and offers you multiple objectives that you can choose to pursue in order to win, such as military conquest, cultural domination, technological ascension, or political alliances. The new multiplayer capabilities also allow you to expand your challenges and fights beyond an AI in order to face off against fellow players. All of this, topped with a rich and in-depth custom ship designer ensure an immersive and exciting experience as you decide how to rule your galaxy.

CORE FEATURES:
  • Never the same game twice: Play in the ultimate sandbox where each game has a unique map, worlds, and challenges to face -- all on a massive scale. Play against 16 to 100 opponents.
  • Multiple paths to victory: Win through military conquest, cultural domination, technological ascension, or political alliance.
  • Create your own history: Each sandbox game lets you create a new future history for your civilization.
  • Story-based campaign: Learn the ancient histories of the alien civilizations and one possible future for the human race.
  • Massive technology tree: Research a technology tree with immense breadth and depth. Each playable faction has their own unique specializations. Your choice determines how you play and win.
  • Faction & Ship Customization: Create a civilization with its own look, ships, technologies, and even options for how the AI will use them.
  • Multiplayer: Play online with friends with full support for custom civilizations, saved multiplayer games, and much more.
  • A deep economy: Every world is unique with many different resources that can change the course of your strategy each game.
  • Planetary Governors: Utilize individual planetary leaders to govern your worlds, deciding what improvements to build and when, which leaves you to focus on larger strategic goals.

About Crusade
Experience a whole new side of Galactic Civilizations III with the Crusade expansion! Discover your enemy’s weak points with espionage, actively invade and conquer planets, and help talented citizens rise to power and drive your civilization into a golden age. With a detailed civilization builder tool for Steam workshop, espionage, revamped invasions, Galactic Citizens system, new races and civilizations, and more, Crusade adds a host of depth for Galactic Civilizations III that players have been craving.

Core Features:

Civilization Builder
Create a custom faction complete with leader, ideology, and abilities. You can also customize your own galactic navy and create unique conversation dialogue for your faction to use when it comes into contact with friends and enemies. The civilization builder is integrated into Steam Workshop so that you can upload your creation for other users to enjoy!

Invasions
Conquering a world is no small task. The revamped invasion system in Crusade allows a citizen to be trained as a soldier in order to invade worlds. Strategic and challenging, invasions will require careful planning as you train your legions and determine which tile to attack first. Be careful not to forget to defend your own worlds from your enemies, too!

Espionage
Smaller civilizations can keep up with their larger counterparts by training their citizens in the art of espionage. Spies can steal technologies, circulate rumors to create civil unrest, sabotage enemy worlds, or even go so far as to assassinate enemy citizens to keep their edge above the competition.

Galactic Citizens
Shape the course of your civilization’s destiny with talented individuals called citizens. Choose from over a dozen unique roles - commander, engineer, farmer, celebrity, and more - to help your colonies flourish by unlocking new gameplay or providing bonuses. The unique Promotions system allows citizens to answer a higher calling. They become effectively “consumed” for a large benefit. Commanders can become Privateers and convert their ship into a powerful vessel that belongs to no civilization and terrorizes other ships for fun, profit, and plausible deniability. Celebrities can sing their swan song in a spectacular final concert, Spies can choose to go down in a blaze of glory (and explosives!) as Saboteurs, and more.

New Races and Civilizations
You already know you’re not alone in the universe, but there are always new civilizations to discover. Crusade features three brand-new factions:

Terran Resistance:
The portion of humanity that avoided being trapped on Earth behind the Precursor Shield, years on the run have made them resourceful, but hard.
The Onyx Hive: These multi-limbed worms were born from the deep, volcanic vents in the ocean of their homeworld. Natural spies, their society thrives on backstabbing and intrigue.
The Slyne: These cybernetic space amoebas look down on other races as being primitive. Fickle and hard to kill, it’s probably best to stay on their good side.

Updated Civilizations
Think you know how the Drengin operate or what kind of trades the Krynn might expect from you? The races you were once familiar with have all been changed so that playing against them is a more unique experience. When you go to select opponents for a map, a whole new host of information is available to you now so that you can make a better decision about who you’d like to play against. All of the races value different resources, ideologies, and more, so each experience you have will be unique!

Updated Economy, Diplomacy, and Alliance Systems
Overall re-balancing and pacing changes keep the early game chock-full of interesting and important choices that you need to make for your civilization. The economy makes it so that each choice impacts what options you have available to you later - will you build a shipyard first, or will you establish a Central Bank in order to boost your income early on?

Trading is critical in Crusade because you need to obtain and amass resources in order to do things. A “trade bar” now shows up above the dialogue box and shows how fair the trade is and how much further you’ll have to go before your trade partner accepts your proposal. Races will value resources differently based on how much money they have, whether they like you or not, and dozens of other factors.

The re-balancing done on the Alliances system will make you think twice about going back on your word or attacking certain civilizations. There are very real consequences for “war mongering” or for breaking an alliance or treaty - not only will the offended civilization come for blood, but now they’ll be bringing all their friends and allies, too.

Crusade also features a sleek, functional new UI. Multi-core pathfinding keeps turns short and quick, even in late games with dozens of civilizations on massive maps. Crusade is packed with new features and improvements that are both accessible to new fans and exciting for long-time players of Galactic Civilizations III.

Changelog
2.33

Base Game

Adjusted the galaxy generation so that the game doesn't crash when on "insane" maps set to "scattered". This change won't affect the distribution of stars or planets.
Fixed a more, but rarer crash in the map generation system
Fixed corrupt graphic for the Drengin mining base
Addressed a crash where the UI was trying to access a deleted object.
Fixed numerous crashes where the game was referencing stale data.
Fixed a crash in "Add Trade Offer" if one side is not valid (usually means that it's trying to update the offer before the window is open)
The trade window now checks to see if it found a valid flavor text string
The planet tooltip Window now checks to see if the planet had a valid owner before trying to deal with rebellion status
Game no longer crashes if a texture fails to be created

Crusade

Fixed numerous crashes where the game was referencing stale data.
Fixed a crash in "Add Trade Offer" if one side is not valid (usually means that it's trying to update the offer before the window is open)
The trade window now checks to see if it found a valid flavor text string
The planet tooltip Window now checks to see if the planet had a valid owner before trying to deal with rebellion status
Game no longer crashes if a texture fails to be created

2.32.2

Updates (7/25)
Fixed additional stuck turn issues.

Updates (7/24)
Optimized the code determining whether a player or AI knows the existence of an object (major MAJOR performance improvement).
Fixed crash caused when the AI evaluates sending a ship to a given planet at the same time as the player is colonizing that planet.
Fixed crash caused when the AI is evaluating trade targets at the same time the player has colonized the planet.
AI optimization of when to upgrade ships (major performance boost)
AI only determines its primary opponent when the galactic political landscape has likely changed (major turn time improvement)
Fixed issue where fleet faction icon would go missing from the tooltip after hovering over any ship in the shipyard screen

2.32

AI/Gameplay

Added new ship weapon components that don't require special resources (But cost a lot more).
AI won't offer trades with civs they hate.
Improved planetary improvement AI.
When starting an invasion, the player now chooses between three random tiles.
Freighters will more aggressively try to find a destination.
AI balanced to build more transports if it has sufficient military power already.
AI fleets are more aggressive in going through dangerous territory.

Privateers

Promoting a commander to a privateer no longer fails because it chooses a custom design.
Privateer fleets with non-privateer ships are now flagged as being pirates.
Privateer can now attack starbases, planets, shipyards, or asteroid mining bases without declaring war.
Privateers now appear as pirates in the battle viewer. Fixed issue in battle preview/results screens that showed obviously the owning faction of the privateers
Fixed issue where privateer would sometimes be created without weapons.

Performance

Introduced enhancements for smoother game play on laptops.

Bugs

Fixed a GWG crash if you started a game where you didn't owned planets (like in the beginning of the Arcea campaign mission), exited to the main menu, and then started a sandbox game
Commander abilities text no longer pops out of fleet tooltip
Added size check to remaining available faction list when setting up random players (prevents edge-case crash)
If the UP chairman leaves the UP from the diplomacy screen, they will be immediately fired and asked to clean out their desk. (Fixes UP oddness and crashes.)
Matched the Crusade Arcean Faction personality to match the Mercenaries version
Tabbing between players in the trade window now correctly updates trade offers.
Updated Star Surfer description better explain its functionality
Removed strings duplicated between the base game and Crusade.
Removed Interstellar Drives and Life Support Modules from all spawned fighters as this was occasionally causing "assault" fighters to act as "guardians".
Fixed a problem with the Crusade tutorial not unlocking its achievement.
Crash fix for invasion system where swarm particles aren't being generated for the bonus legions from generals if the defending player is human.

UI

Removed bad clipping on some of the citizen portraits.
Updated the Anomaly Popup Window so that the background image is correct at medium and normal UI sizes.
Cropped and resized citizen portraits to remove artifacts in the Choose Portraits screen.
Large UI version of Shipyard list icon is no longer blurry.
Fixed issue where tradable stat type and strategic resource trade items were not displaying correctly in the diplomacy->treaty details screen (they would show up as "New Game")

MP

Inviting friends to your match no longer bypasses the normal DLC checks. This would cause a crash if the DLC did not match or if one player owned Crusade and other did not. There have been no changes to being able to play MP with mismatched DLC: with a few exceptions, the host's DLC is available to everyone.
Fixed issue where entering an MP lobby and then leaving would not reload all the factions. This would cause a crash if you had more than 13 players in the previous game and hit quick-start (aren't edge cases fun?)
Quick starting after failing to enter a Lobby Enter no longer crashes
Fix for issue where the turn system would skip over the space pirate player once they were considered dead by the system.
Ability tooltips for DLC factions you don't own now show the correct tooltips

Price is for early access. You get founder's elite pack along with it.

It'll be $19.99-49.99 when game is released.

Edit: When the BETA arrives, the Founder Elite version will go away entirely and have the regular version. We actually had this on GalCiv3.com where the standard edition was only $40.

Thanks to 3DM for supplying the crack!

Download China release, goto Galactic Civilizations III\Gfx\SkyBox, then open file skybox08environmentcube_blur6.dds with winrar and look inside.

Seems like it's not enough for chineses to steal scene emus, they're stealing from p2p. Just know that VMProtect won't help!
