Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new game play elements to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city whilst expanding on some well-established tropes of the city building experience.

From the makers of the Cities in Motion franchise, the game boasts a fully realized transport system. It also includes the ability to mod the game to suit your play style as a fine counter balance to the layered and challenging simulation. You’re only limited by your imagination, so take control and reach for the sky!

Multi-tiered and challenging simulation: Constructing your city from the ground up is easy to learn, but hard to master. Playing as the mayor of your city you’ll be faced with balancing essential requirements such as education, water electricity, police, fire fighting, healthcare and much more along with your citys real economy system. Citizens within your city react fluidly, with gravitas and with an air of authenticity to a multitude of game play scenarios.

Districts and Policies: Be more than just an administrator from city hall. Designating parts of your city as a district results in the application of policies which results in you rising to the status of Mayor for your own city.

Utilize the Day and Night Cycle:
The city changes during the hours of the day and affects citizen schedules. Traffic is visibly slower at night and some zoned areas do not work with full efficiency. This expansion will put you in control of managing the different aspects of the day and night cycles.

Extensive modding support: Build or improve on existing maps and structures. You can then import them into the game, share them as well as download the creations of other city builders on the Steam workshop.

cause of press-copys. actually there is an embargo for lets-plays until march the 3rd, and those players eventually got very exclusive rights to tease a bit. reviews are also not allowed until march the 10th.

Tho some previews say its a very easy game. One example; If you have some kind of Problem in your city, you have always enough time to counter so you get no penalties, etc. I hope they balanced things in the Retail for good.

Well i've seen a stream where the population of his city suddenly died off or left town, because of lack of ambulances , Sound pollution and dump close to water supply ;-)

First I must say that from what i saw (from watching stream yesterday and today), I loved it... And there is so much good thing in the game...
But yes I must agree with some previews and ShadowDuke game looks to easy. And when you play more and more its more easier.
Second biggest problem is (but i hope this will be partial fixed by modding), is variety of buildings. And i didn't see to much huge tall skyscrapers.
There is small number of services too, and it is shame that there is no upgrades or specialization for buildings (this is not the must just flavor and last SimCity have that - and that was the best part of the game for me).

But for me and for some other users will be most important traffic/roads. I think the road system is one of the best system ever seen in any city builder game. But they need to polish traffic. For example three line road have this lines where they meet to intersection: from left to right forward, forward and right, and just right. In real life cars that go forward will always use left and 80% (and more) for going forward and only small portion will use this middle lain for going right. But in this game i saw that they rarely use middle lain for forward and mostly to right or just empty. And for me this is stupid and can make huge traffic jam. And it make when i watched stream... For me this must be fixed because I love to make road and public service system.
