MODS FROM STEAM WORKSHOP HERE
[[Please login to see this link.]]

TOPIC FOR REQUEST HERE
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=72091

HOW TO DO:
Location of Stellaris mods are -> \My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\Mod\ . If there is no Mod folder create it.

01. Download the archived file for a mod from link provided above.
02. Archive files are named with numbers like link of the mods on Steam. To see what mods you want look the link mod id and search it in MEGA.
03. Extract the archive File contents to temporarily folder.
04. Take the "Descriptor.mod" file, rename it to <modname>.mod, put it in the \Mod\ root directory.
05. Edit the .mod file with notepad (or any text editor program), edit only this line: (this is just the example of one mod)
    archive="blorg.zip"
    to
    path="mod/blorg"
06. All other lines leave to be the same. Now save the edited .mod file.
07. Make new folder in the same \Mod\ root directory and name it the same you edit in "Descriptor.mod" (in this case "blorg").
08. Now place all folders and files if any from temporarily folder to the new folder you will create in the \Mod\ root directory ("blorg" folder).
    This will look like this:
    \Mod\Blorg\<mods files and folders>
    \Mod\blorg.mod

WARNING!!!
Never change files in game folder. Because of that maybe updates will not work because you changed files that was needed to be updated.
Always made mods and there you can change.
It is not recommended to change working version of some mods because they are maybe not supported for newer version of games.

WORK IN PROGRESS!!!

Ok I am really intrigued about this game. And already is noticed that I am little bit hyped about this title.

Little bit more information about this game. I will update this post as much I can, and as much information about this title.
There will be speculation and conformation in this list, so not everything is 100% true, and some thing can change...

They posted 10 (one hint per day, total of 10 days before the announcement on Gamescom) hints before announcing this title. Here are the full list and explanation:
Spoiler
01. - This will be our first new major IP released since the original Crusader Kings over 10 years ago.
Well, this was to say to you that it was NOT rome2 or victoria 3.

02. - Seven and Three are important numbers.
Well, this was to create discussion, but 7 and 3 are numbers very important in cosmology.

03.- There will be no stabbing of pigs.
To tell you once again.. Its NOT rome2!

04. - Terrain truly matters in this game.
Because it does in all our games, but in some much more.. And in this game its more involved than ever before.

05. - Game Director is Henrik Fåhraeus, 15 year industry veteran, lead designer behind the Crusader Kings and Hearts of Iron series.
Me and Henrik are slightly different in our design views. He's the ck guy, i'm the eu guy.

06. - Elections and Technological Development are important parts of the game.
To eliminated ancient games from speculation, and hint that its set in the future.

07. - This is a project we've always dreamt about doing, something all of PI have been involved in, not just the PDS developers.
Every department has been a part of it, and this hint was also posted by Fred who have said he wanted to make a spacegame a lot of times.. (So have I)

08. - Picture Image
Futuristic looks that most of you saw directly.

09. - Leader characters play an important role in the game.
To indicate the game we wanted to be.

10. - I have seen things you people wouldn't believe...
Quoting Blade Runner to confirm to you guys that the leak was real.

Now more information about the game:

    • This is there first game that is not part of history theme
    • This is the first mayor IP after 10 years of developing games
    • Game is made in Klauswitz engine (Same engine as CK II, EU IV and HoI IV)
    • Game is development stage for ~3 years now
    • Game is in late alpha stage

    • Each species will have unique appearances, traits, and ethics.
    • The universe can be large up to 1000 system.
    • Universe is always random generated.
    • Game will start symmetric.
    • You can choose how many you want adjustable enemy races who all start the same, with one planet.
    • In addition to these "upstarts" are other inhabitants of the galaxy in different stages of development.
    • What system will have:
      • System can have star, planets, moons, asteroids.
      • You can colonize planets and moons (if they are possible).
      • You can mine minerals from asteroids (if they have).
      • There will not be any empty system with just star in the universe.
      • Zooming is seamless from individual system up to the whole galaxy.

    • You can't control the battles yourself, they run automatically.
    • You can create your own ship design.

    • There will be in depth diplomacy system.
    • There will be events and some will have huge impact of the game.
    • You will start in age of first faster-than-light technology (same as most of other races).
    • There is a quest log (called "Situation Log") lists our open events.
    • Can form federation. In a federation there is voting. Depending on which race is doing what, the politics can change drastically.
    • They said that this title will be more moddable then any other game they made.
    • The regular research extends nonlinearly in Stellaris, there is no fixed research tree!
    • There will be 3 main technological groups: "Physics", "Engineering" and "Society".
    • To start a war in Stellaris we should also have a reason for war (casus belli).
    • Early stage of game will be more on exploration and discovery and colonization like most of the 4X games.
    • Mid and late stage of the game will be more of Grand Strategy game because of contact of other huge empires.
    • Really interesting approach of science and discovery.
    • RPG-like characters play an important role.
    • Namely leaders (lead colonies), admirals (command fleets), generals (commanding ground forces) and scientists (fly research vessels).
    • Each character has certain advantages and disadvantages and levels up by successes.
    • There will be huge catastrophes in game (events).
    • There is three types of traveling that you choose for your race in the begging of game:
      • Hyperlanes - Connect systems directly, fastest travel but restricted
      • Warp - Slower traveling but freedom of movement
      • Wormholes - Have the longest jump but need station builded
    • For each race they will be represented by one of around a 100 animated portraits.
    • There will be election system in the game.
    • There will be population system (we still don't know what type and how this will look).

Looks interesting. Although I hope this new IP doesn't mean the end of the dream for those waiting for Victoria III (since in theory that should be the next title after Hearts of Iron IV)

Don't worry they will still make history game titles. It is not the end. They are just expanding. And i belie that this is smart move.
Btw there are still 2 project in the process that are not announced there real name.
The name of projects are: Project Tiberius and Project Titus.

I updated the list. More info posted...

I am really big fan of space strategy games. I am really looking forward for this title and I am hyped.
I love PDX games and maybe just maybe this game will be the best strategy game that they will make it. I really hope (and pray) that they can do it.

For about release date of the game:
We don't know when actual release will be. When game was on Steam (day before announcing the game on Gamescom), on there store page game release date was 16 February, 2016. We actually really don't know. But they are not saying anything.
What we know for now: That game project Augustus was announced ~1.5 year ago. And in that time it was worked for ~1.5 year. That means that this title is in work for ~3 years now.
What else we know: They said that they will not anymore announce there games to early because they learn that this can heart a lot. (big example is Runemaster or HOI 4). We know that this title is work more then HOI 4. And there is even possibility that this tittle will be released before HOI 4. Second big possibility and big logic is that the release will not be close to each games (Harts of Iron 4 and Stellaris). Mostly because this will be stupid move.

So maybe we can actually get game in February what Steam page wrote, or near that date. Or they need to made date for this game later on because of HOI 4, but if they do that they violated their promises (and I don't think that they will do that especially because they ware serious about that after Runemaster cancellation).

@w30wnz
We actually don't knows what are this projects. There are no conformation about anything. Only speculations and that's all.
All we know the names of project and that are actually 2 of them. And most likely are big title because they don't give announce for small titles that they made. For example Sengoku, March of the Eagle...

Who knows maybe it is Victoria III (that I would like to be), or maybe some other eras of history for example Dark Ages, Cold War... Or who knows maybe it is not even a history game then something different (but i don't think it is the case for this, because that would be to strange and to expanding for them, they are not that huge company like others. They are still medium sides and like to work slow growth).

To @ALL
I will post more information about this tittle when ever i find more.
And will try to post most accurate if I can.

For example 7 group of species (phenotypes) is not 100% accurate and it is not well enough explained.

------------
Now about next thing... I know this is really early and maybe not fit to talk...
I have preposition to all of you. This is just a talk and maybe is not needing at all. But I would like to share.

I would really like to maintain this title too like i did for CK II and EU IV and for other games too.
I want to provide as much help and work to here (our community).
I would try to provide patches as much I can and all DLCs (up to date) as much is possible.

In the past couple of years I provided patches and dlcs (up to date) for both games of Paradox. And I will still doing this as much I can.
Will try to be fast as much I can and will try to be accurate as always. Ofc I can make a mistake and will try to fix that. And will made batter. I am still human after all.
Will try help people as much I can.

Now what I ask here:
When games go out for sale. I would like to bought it and all DLCs too. And then next DLCs too. In that way I will always provide here as much content is possible for this game.
Problem I am weak on cash. I was always weak on that. And actually this is common problem in my country and game are the same prices here like for example i live in Paris or Berlin (idk why as treat as same as western country but in reality we are ten times worse and even more, much more).
I am asking you guys if you can gather up money to buy one copy of the game and then made publicly available too all, like I did for CK II and EU IV.

Now you will ask this (some of you), why will I do that? First I am not forcing I am just asking and this is for all of us. Even I who have original games (CK II and EU IV and other) play cracked, because I play with friend and they don't have legal games (at least most of the games). Second it is not big money if we gather together, that way we all benefit from this, especially the people who didn't bought the game. And most of the people here don't have some dlcs or have none.
Second what can you ask is: but we can get games from other, like Scene groups or even other P2P groups?
There is truth there. But let's see past. None of the scene games never release patch (except CPY did last time). Same scene release in past was not 100%. You always wait for scene. There are a lot of patches after expansion come and they never release that, they are just releasing expansion.

Now that I put all the things to all you guys just think about this. There is no rush and no hard words. This is just a talk.
I really would like to help to people and would like to do that in future too. And only that I can do that is actually only with you guys and your support.
And sorry for long wall of text.

Ok here it is first Dev Diary yohooo!!!

Stellaris Dev Diary #1 - The Vision
Quote:
Hi everyone!

Today, we will kick off a series of weekly dev diaries for our new game, Stellaris. We intend to keep feeding you with more information every week until release! This will be a while, but hopefully we won't have to resort to interns sharing their opinions on beekeeping or new snazzy shoes... Anyway, in this first entry, I thought I'd simply give you some background on the project and the vision I have for Stellaris.

So, how come we decided to make a space game of all things? Well, the idea has been kicking around the office ever since Europa Universalis II was released (we ended up making Hearts of Iron instead.) Ah, those were the days... Now, as you may know, our ambition is to eventually cover the entire "human timeline" with our games... including the future. So, in essence, making a space game is both something that has had a lot of support internally among the developers (seeking freedom from the shackles of history) and that many of you, our faithful players, have requested over the years. When the decision to make a space game was finally made by the powers that be, I wrote two different design outlines, and the one that would eventually become Stellaris was chosen (no, I will not tell you what the other one was!)

The vision statement the for Stellaris is: "The galaxy is ancient and full of wonders." That sounds pretty vague eh? However, I think it captures the spirit of what we are trying to do, when you recall the type of games we make at PDS... I want to make Stellaris the most replayable of all of our games (which, granted, is a pretty tall order!) The galaxy should always be unknown and surprising. That is why there are no "major races" in the game, and such a great variety of discoveries you can make. In the same vein, there is no fixed technology tree - but more on that later.

Stellaris diverges from all of our other games in certain key respects:
  • It is not historical.
  • It features a symmetrical start.
  • You start out small.
  • Most of the world is unknown.

The last three points happen to be defining features of "4X" games, so - although I somewhat dislike the term - Stellaris is in many ways a 4X game; a pretty crowded niche these days. However, we are not trying to recreate classics like Master of Orion. Stellaris is quite a new and different beast, but the symmetrical, small start offers two great advantages: The game can appear deceptively simple for new players. I.e. it can have a much smoother learning curve than our infamously hard-to-learn historical games. Secondly, it allows us to focus on the first X; eXploration, which I personally feel has always been the most neglected one.

The early game is thus characterized by exploration and discovering the wonders of the galaxy. We have put a lot of effort into making this part of the game feel fresh and unique every time you play. Then you start coming into contact with rival space-faring races and soon you reach the mid game, when there is not much left to colonize and your easy expansion grinds to a halt. At this point, the map stabilizes into the Stellaris equivalent of the world map in Europa Universalis, and the stage is set for a classic Paradox Grand Strategy experience...

It looks promising, especially if then can deliver true solar systems, full with asteroids, planets and moons. Most 4x games really oversimplify that aspect and as a result they do not feel like a space game. The downside is that combat in Paradox games is really non-existent and the most attractive feature of space games is actually designing ships and commanding them on a battlefield.
