Aven Colony 1.0.20472 is now live, including the achievement browser, notification fixes, plasma turret fixes, more!

Here we go with update #4. As with the previous 3 updates since launch, this update is a patch that brings lots of bug fixes and a few key features.

Most importantly, we've improved plasma turrets to make their shots far more effective, added an in-game achievement browser, fixed localisation issues, and added several features to make alert notifications less annoying.

We've also overhauled the icons in the campaign mission list that show the difficulty at which you completed the mission.

Changes in this update:

Added an achievement browser off the main menu. Although Steam shows which achievements you've completed, this browser allows you to see your progress toward completing any achievement -- and also shows off the shiny gold achievement medals we created for PS4 and Xbox One!
Tons of fixes to localized text and UI
Major improvements to plasma turret shots: shots are now faster, have larger collision spheres, and have better logic to help them hit creep spores and plague spores
Re-added the "defeat" stinger music that's supposed to play when you lose the game and the defeat splash pops up
Vastly improved the art for the mission completion badges in the campaign mission list; also added tooltips for these
Alert notifications now beep much less often: they now must wait a minimum of 40 seconds (of real-time) between playing alert beeps for subsequent notifications of the same type
Added a "mute" button to the upper-right corner of all notifications that can automatically pop up. If you get annoyed by a notification popping up too often, just mute the notification and all subsequent notifications of that type will no longer pop up automatically
Fixed a bug where placing multiple buildings using the SHIFT key wouldn't show radii for buildings that completed construction during placement (lightning towers, drone stations, plasma turrets)
Plague spore microbes: fixed a logic flaw that often prevented microbes from turning left/right in tunnels when they should have been able to, which prevented them from spreading as far through a colony as intended
Clicking on a citizen's portrait in the selection pane will now center the camera on them
Added a bit of disclaimer text to Vanaar and Sandy Gulch to make clear that they're easier than subsequent missions
The nanite indicator tooltip now states when you're manufacturing Consumer Goods. Users sometimes get confused or discouraged by the consistent nanite drain that Consumer Goods manufacturing can cause; this should help make clearer what's happening and what you need to do to fix it

New Features:

Added a blue highlight around the edges of the viewport to make clear when the game is paused
When you hold down the Ctrl key to highlight buildings of the same time, the "legend" panel at left now says what you're highlighting
Holding down Ctrl while in an overlay mode will now highlight all buildings relevant to that overlay (unless a building is selected)
Added sub-panels to the "aggregate morale" dialog in the Colony Control Panel, including a new "Food Consumption" sub-panel with detailed info
Construction Drones and Scrubber Drones now show their destinations as curved arrows when in the Drones overlay
Bug fixes:

Fixed various issues related to Hyla's Crescent that could cause stability issues or make it impossible to finish the mission
Fixed bug where hitting "Resume" on the main menu and then the Tab key would go into surveillance camera mode
The "Show Range" button no longer appears on drone stations that haven't yet been fully constructed
You no longer get spammed with "Out of Potash" notifications when multiple food-producing buildings run out simultaneously
Fixed issue with artifacts being ignored when placing buildings (you could have placed buildings on top of artifacts!)
Fixed the "Commute" overlay button not highlighting properly
Tons of other little tweaks and fixes
Art Improvements:

Added a dragonfly to Vanaar
Rebuilt icons for all of the buildings in the build palette
Added a small green arrow for the "Select" button on notifications
Tweaked a lot of the icons on the Colony Control Panel, especially the "social policies" icon
Tuning & balancing:

Simplified the mission objectives in Hyla's Crescent
Campaign versions of Vanaar and Sandy Gulch now give more nanites at the start but fewer nanites from Veronika's rewards

@ Druid8732 / .Rar / A.N.Other passing moderator - Is it possible for you to please edit the thread title so that it reads "Aven Colony ..." rather than "AvenColony ...". So two words rather than one word. Since as scaramonga alluded to, the one word version is not showing up in a search (or at least it didn't for me), as if you search for "Aven" or "Colony" then you get no results. The only way to find it currently (AFAICT) is to search for "AvenColony", which is not necessarily something users are going to think off (as IMO they are more likely to think the game isn't on here if "Aven" and "Colony" produce no hits). Thank you for your time. Edit - My thanks to whoever edited the title.

This week's update has some big performance improvements that should improve performance considerably for large colonies -- an optimization we had in place to limit the number of colonists walking around in tunnels wasn't working properly, and we've now fixed that. As a result of this and other fixes, we've seen frame rate improvements of up to 20 fps in some cases for large colonies.

New Features:

By popular demand, you can now save your favorite camera positions: use Ctrl-6 through Ctrl-0 to save the current camera position and 6 through 0 to recall
Immigrants who can't find enough housing now wait in the Immigration Center to get returned to the colony ship at the first opportunity (i.e. when the immigration vessel takes off again), so you have that much time to create enough housing for them
New "Show Notifications" and "Hide Notifications" buttons in the lower right to help you handle notifications more easily
When mines start to deplete, their mining rate says "Mining Rate: 0 (depleted)"
The drill also slows down to a stop below 10 minerals remaining

Performance improvements:

Fixed a major bug that could allow far too many colonists to walk around in the tunnels on large cities; these are intended to be capped based on frame rate (this capping does NOT impact gameplay)
Improved load times when going from the main menu into the game
Improved farm rendering performance - particularly when you have a farm selected and other farms are being constructed
Improved animation performance of all buildings
Big optimization to colonists' use of physics to detect doors

Bug fixes:

Fixed bug with banana trees appearing in Greenhouses after loading a saved game
Fixed issues with police drones sometimes getting stuck
Fixed the recycle pane to say when a building is being imploded if you implode while the game is paused
Fixed immigration vessels and trade vessels to properly aim toward the correct entry/exit points at all times when entering/leaving orbit
Buildings with 0 health can no longer be re-imploded
Fixed bug where you could continue playing a completed game after loading it
Fixed bug with tutorial plate positioning in Holo-Sim 2 overlapping the Farming Structures submenu if you had it open
Fixes to funky shadows on the Mill structure
Lots of other small bug fixes

Tuning/Tweaking:

Adjusted power and nanite costs and population capacity for all buildable residential structures (Apartments, Habitats, and Skyscrapers)
Tenari Glacier: Changed the "reach X water income" quest to "construct 2 water structures"
Lots of little improvements to the the SHIPE calls in Vanaar and Sandy Gulch; these are a bit tighter / shorter now; also cut the long SHIPE call in Vanaar into 2 separate calls
