I managed to make it work with an ALI213 emu + .exe crk (nothing from CDX crack).
No crashes anymore (for now) while manual save, tested 20 times in different slots.
So, looks like "there is a problem with CDX crack" with manual save.

Cool! Would you care to upload your crackfix/hybrid files in one .zip?

I'll test a little bit more, i'll play until i reach another save point, if i can save without crash (that would mean that's Ok normally), i'll share my generic crack.

So, i reached another save point, and tested to save 10 times in different slots, no crashes, so it's Ok i guess.

How do I unlock the DLCs?

Add these lines in valve.ini (if you use the generic crack):

Then in game -> menu -> items -> additional items and activate what you want.

Edit: PS: And before someone ask, just in case, after activating the DLCs, for change costumes, go into the status menu for each characters and change their titles. ( )

Saving works great.
Only thing I noticed is that my savegame disappeared.
So if somebody got far ahead with the codex crack thats something to watch out.

I am not certain what you changed in the exe crack, but I tried another version of ALI213 emu, because yours was flagged by Windows Defender and I didn't want to fight with it. So I took another that wasn't a problem for Windows Defender. I tried your emu and mine (v3) with your exe and with the original. I was able to save at the beginning and in Jail on both account. So I am not certain why the exe crack is needed since the dlls work fine with the original exe.

Well, use what is the best for you, i shared what that worked for me because of people request, and it seems that it works for everyone without issues.
BTW your issue with windows defender is 100% a false positive obviously, it's not new with cracks usage.

Save location are not the same with CDX emu and ALI213 emu:
ALI213: Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition\Profile\User\Saves\
CODEX: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Steam\CODEX\738540\remote\
Don't know if the save files are compatible between the two emu, i wasn't able to save with CDX emu because of crashes, so not tested.

Just tried to transfer my codex save "tlsavedata0_00" to the ali213 folder you specified and the save isn't recognized by the game unfortunately.
Saving works without crashing on ali213's crack though, so unless codex releases a crackfix for the game you'll have to make a new game and restart from scratch if you want to play and save without crashes.
