Serious Sam TSE: HD will only run as the demo version with the latest GreenLuma (2.6.2) and the latest Steam client.

The game will not launch at all from within the Steam library. Clicking the play button does nothing after choosing which version of the game to launch (mod or regular).
The game will launch from within the library if GreenLuma is not used but only as the demo version.

The game will run as a demo version when using GreenLuma, but only if the SamHD_TSE.exe executable is launched directly AND if a steam_appid.txt file with an appid of 41010 (the real appid) is placed in the game's main subdirectory (NOT the bin subdirectory with the executable). Trying to use another appid prevents the game from running at all (but without an error message).

One odd thing I have noticed is that when using GreenLuma, there is a Serious Sam TSE: HD demo entry in the game list along with the standard Serious Sam TSE: HD entry, but there is no demo entry if GreenLuma is not used. That demo version cannot actually be installed through using GreenLuma (I believe because a separate demo does not actually exist). Standard Steam only lists the one Serious Sam TSE: HD game, and it is playable as a demo version if the Steam user account does not own the game.

By the way the exact opposite is true for Serious Sam TFE: HD. In Greenluma is shows no demo version in the game list, but with standard Steam it does.

So, is there any fix for this? The freely downloadable Serious Sam TSE:HD used to be playable as a full version game when using GreenLuma.

Would be better to be explained at the end of the old GreenLuma topic for the new one, because not many people still know about it.

I don't understand, why was the method changed from instead of using "GreenLuma.exe", you have to use a custom "steam.exe"?

Valve removed the -clientapp command line parameter, which made the old system possible. A good move from them, as it was probably only used for cracks, heh :P

Well, good move FOR THEM, but not for crackers.

Thanks for the information.

EDIT: Getting an error on CSGO, saying that I am missing an executable. It worked before, strange.

@Steam006,I would sugest you to rename your Steam.exe to GreenLuma.exe, this way I don't have to overwrite any Steam file and I don't have to restore the backup to update the Steam client !

Some games checks if Steam.exe is running.

Steam006, what do you think of my Greenluma updater.
Are you going to give support to it once done?

From what I know they check for the Steam service...

No, he's right. The check is for "Steam.exe.".

Steam006, there's some problem with L4D2.

I make a server, I make my friends get in, they have legit L4D2, but they seem to get problems; They get kicked with some error about a "boomette" or "hunter", whatever it is. At first it is a black screen, and it seems the "load bar" is hardly reaching 100%.

What could be the problem? I have all custom maps and mods disabled. I did change "steam.exe" to "greenluma.exe" though.

I found a fix... Start steam, navigate inside steam to your games library, right click on your game and in the configuration arguemnt (whatever they call it) put: -nofbo ..and start your game. I found this in the forums here somewhere and when I tried it it worked but I am unable to find the same post to thank them.
