great work!

but somehow i can´t get it to work (linux, AMD, SRCDS (CS:S)) :?

i´ve patched the engine_* binaries with latest beta VUP (with -esteamation-prep, & in my secind try i also added -esteamation-no-cracked-steam), renamed the libsteamvalidate... to vlvticket..., uploaded your libsteamv... & esteam.conf like it was describet in the readme.

the server starts without any error, but when i want to join this server with my (valid) steam clinet i get

"Error verifying STEAM user ID ticket"

On console it shows me that i join with "Steam_ID Pending".

Nonsteam (extraceted) doesn´t work also, there i get the "Steam Validation Rejected" error.

any ideas? :(

Well, the system is very good the way it's now. Since the clients really generate unique IDs (and no IP based ones), it's really a permanent ban. To bypass this is really difficult (you'd need to either to patch the client emu or change some parts of that what it checks). But still it's only a small switch of your Steam account that you need to join with cracked Steam.
However, would it be possible to separate legit and cracked clients? (I'm sure this is possible since unpatched servers do it, but I assume it's some work and probably needs to check VALVe auth servers :P ).
Secondly, could you update the help in commandline (i.e. if you just start vup86.exe, the printed help then :P )?

Yeah hl1 engine, cs1.6 server. I hope you will fix this problem soon, that there will not be steam connection lost anymore, I realy need that everyone have a UniqueID, because in my server there is realy mutch cheaters.

MadMakz: you must use both fixes, eSteam and VUP patch...

crp: get HLGUARD, sXe Injected etc.

Do you guys experience the same problem: I'm using my Black Box Non-Steam edition, but I can't connect to the setti servers. Do the admins still have to update them or is it impossible now for non-steam games to play on internet servers?

Btw.: Which parameters should be used for a non-steam release? -esteamation-prep and -advanced or something else?

Found a bug in VUP :D :D Ill fix it in Beta 5 ;)
Coz of bug nothing except class C doesnt get patched on Source.

As workaround(till ill release Beta 5) try current vup in advanced mode(-advanced) and answer 'Y" to question "Do you want to leave STEAM_ID_PENDING intact"

Anyway from your errors its something other than this VUP bug...
Ill look at 3471 build of css(checked 3224)...
Just tested on build 3471 and works just fine(steamemu non-steam and legit client).
Post your server log here(full serevr log from beginning)
Replace legit ID in log with asterisks before posting

Small update had been released.

eSTEAMATION v1.1:
Added special parameter to config to enforce new ID generation mode which will give the same ID to client with every emu he will try in 99% of cases.
Compiled with newer binutils+gcc set(Todays Debian Sid update)
Thanks to warezz for repoting this.

VUP 2.0 beta 5:
Fixed serious -esteamamtion-prep bug which broke the patching of source engines and -esteamation-no-cracked-steam bug then VUP erroneously used it in reverse logic(if switch was present then it patched Anti-Cracked-Steam protection and allowed them to join and vise versa).
Thanks for MadMakz for pointing me to this ;)
Added new parameters to internal help list(the running without parameters) - ChrisTX reported that but i knew that coz i was lazy to add it :D Chrissss - Stop looking for lil things bastard :D :D :P

I relly hope ill not need to update again for quite some time(i need a vacation :D) but i know i need to work on VUP 2.0 Beta 6 to add HL1 support(Yea,yea jamess - stop envy ;) )

EDIT: mhh... my servers keep sporadic crashing now, but nothing in logs, just stops.

here are the servers (germany)

88.198.70.9:27300 (here i was on while crashing, others are empty at current time & had no crash yet)

the emu-config is stored in /etc/...

will monitor that due the next day

(btw: system is debian etch 32bit with a custom kernel (2.6.24.4-rt4 #1 SMP PREEMPT RT))
