Hey guys,

I'm a long time lurker arouing the forums. Figured this question was a good topic to finally register and post in threads. So I had steam open, and I accidentally double clicked my torrented Goat Simulator shortcut (was trying to rename it to take out the -shortcut part). Goat Simulator launched, and the steam overlay came up. Goat Simulator was even in my "Games" in my steam profile, although it said 0.0 hours played. Eventually, it disappeared from there, but can Steam detect something like that? Shoud I be worried about my account?

Thanks.

Thanks guys :)

I also had another related question. I have a legit Steam copy of Skyrim but I didn't buy any of the DLC. They probably can't detect that you have pirated DLC for Skyrim (since you just drop the .esm and .bsa files in the folder like any other mod- no need to use a steamwrapper), but I have achievements unlocked for Dawnguard and Dragonborn. Now I know it's very unlikely with all the people that play Skyrim, and I haven't gotten any trouble thus far, but would there ever be a way that Steam could notice this? I was just thinking I should buy the Legendary Edition for $13 while it's on sale now so that will make me safe if Steam ever decides to crack down on this.

Developers deserve your money.
I do not think you'll get banned, bout you're taking a risk. You are violating Valve's rules

Why are you asking this? There's no way for anyone here to give you a guarantee that this would be safe, because nobody could know what Valve does with data sent to them. It would be difficult to even give you a warranty that nothing except achievement data is being transmitted to them that could hint at piracy or prove it.
If they decide to disable your account because they believe you installed pirated DLC they are perfectly entitled doing so by the Steam Subscriber Agreement you accepted. You might always dispute such a decision, but that would require you to address the American Arbitration Association (again by terms of the SSA). Ultimately, unlocked achievements are likely not used to disable accounts, but other, unknown data might give them a very good reason doing so.
