Nonsteam Counter-Strike 1.6 Version Releases

INFO: All Releases contain CSBots or Zbots for single player or multi-player against computer opponents and all releases are known to work with Metamod and Amxmodx.

What makes this release so different to the rest?
It's simple, all the releases are thoroughly tested to ensure multiplayer works, all addon mods works as well. However it is not guaranteed to work on all machines provided they meet the hardware requirements. I can assure you that least 90% of the mods work, so if amxmodx works then it's almost certain that all other addons work but there's no guarantees.

To ensure compatibility, the releases have gone through some extensive testing with various mods to determine which works or not and only the mods that are working will be released, this is to ensure the satisfaction the customer will receive.

What these builds contain:
- Emulator to run the game by REVOLUTiON
- Multiplayer BOTS Zbot or CSbot
- Various Version Releases (Old releases for performance, New releases for compatibility)
- All releases are capable to run on Metamod/Amxmodx Guaranteed

Half-Life 1: Engine
- Fixed name exploit causing client crash

Other changes:
- Added support for modded versions

Cheating Death notice:
- The latest version of Cheating Death (4.32.0) is compatible with this version.

Notes:
- Startup Music is removed, some people find it annoying
- Replaced Master Server to Setti.info to search for non-steam servers

This is a minor update to the v23b, if you have already got v23b you won't need this installation unless you want to play non-steam servers on-the-fly.

This Release requires a CD-KEY, the installer should automatically add one to it, if you run the game and the game asks for a CD-KEY, goto you folder where you install the game and run the CD-KEY.reg file to add the key manually this is a backup tool in case the game fails to install the cd key on the initial installation. Only use the registry file if the game fails to launch or if you run the installer as a non-administrator.

EDIT: OK I've updated the links so that the installer should install the cdkey automatically if it fails this is due to mainly installing the game as a non-administrator try to install the game as an administrator or use the cdkey registry file provided.

Counter-Strike 1.5 HL-Build 1.1.1.2 WON2 + PODBot

This build is the last build before Won was replaced by vac.

NOTE: Counter-Strike 1.1 and Counter-Strike 1.5 installs include a keygen, run the keygen and generate a key when you launch the game the first time.

NOTES:
The installers have been tested on at least 2 actual PC Machines hence avoiding the use of Virtual Machines as this is the proper way to ensure multiplayer works, if your server isnt listed on LAN either port forward your router or firewall or set your host pc to a static ip address to ensure that your server is listed on lan.

Another note is that although the v48 4554 build is a clean rip others were patched via nonsteam installations and it should work. Support is available and will attempt to answer to questions arising with the releases however the solutions are not always guaranteed to work so I will do my best to resolve those issues if it happens.

Word of warning if you need support for metamod/amxmodx as the authors of the program will not support non-steam releases, it is your responsibility for the plugins that support amxmodx that operate as I have no control over how the plugins should work as I'm no programming expert and only support on technical issues rather than programming errors, you will need to get help elsewhere.

Credits
REVOLUTiON for the Emulator
Baosen, Wendigo10 for the BOTS
Setti for providing non-steam server lists

Is Protocol 48 v42 Build 4554 the newest version of 1.6?
Can you join LAN games via server browser? Any other known issues?
Thanks!

So far v48 4554 is the latest version for non-steam from what I can find.

You should be able to join lan, if there are issues it's probably your router or your firewall blocking incoming data another cause is that you're behind a router and you're using automatic ip, to get the lan server showing in your browser you will need to set a static ip address if that fails you can also connect to lan via the connect console.

Just use connect <ip address> in this case if you cannot see the lan game on your browser. You will need to inspect the host's computer for the ip address from their network of what they use rather than the ip address given to you by your ISP for example connect 192.168.1.2:27015 where the 192 address is your lan host and the 27015 is the port number you connect to.

There maybe issues yes, but I have yet to discover one.

EDIT: The bots on the v48 4554 are using czero bots they may behave incorrectly but this was done to ensure compatibility for metamod/amxmodx to work on both client and serverside.

Very good thread, comprehensive list of cs 1.6 versions. I'll download them all tomorrow. I'm curious of how does your build 4554 compare with the warzone release?

and version 42 is Exe build: 16:05:41 Jun 15 2009 correct?

Yes it is correct, that build came from a clean rip with the ads removed manually, the differences between the other versions is that that metamod/amxmodx works but the bots I included came from Wendigo's releases so its basically czero bots on cstrike. But having said that it shouldn't affect gameplay unless its a hostage map where the hostages move or behave incorrectly that is due to the behaviour of the bots and I have forwarded the credits to the authors for releasing it.

Other versions have used the latest csbot released by baosen which I did not use on Protocol 48 v42 Build 4554 for a reason, it's been said on various threads that amxmodx/metamod wont work due to missing code for the bots and metamod working together, older versions do work with baosen's bots since their bot codes are intact and the reason for a v23b release was that it was for simplicity purposes so that people can just use that installer and the game is already patched to that version and together with bots they can host a lan game out of it if they choose to.

The differences between warzone and my one is that warzone is using addons for backwards compatibility eg. dproto I chose not to include it because I want the installers to be in the original format how the game should be and if they have bots most likely it wouldnt work with amxmod/metamod so my release can handle it.

Warzone release includes CS Bots by baosen but still compatible with AmxmodX for both client and server. It already have Metamod-P installed which is modified to work with bots. :)

And as you said warzone released also backward compatible (Dual Protocol)

That might be true, but your release works with metamod-p which is a modified engine to run amxmod. The releases I've made will work with amxmod and metamod of any type including the amxmodx installers straight out of the box.

As for backwards compatibility I did not want to add it as I wanted the installers to be genuine and original format how it is. You can add dproto for backwards compatiblity if you wish that is a personal choice.

Warzone cs works on both version of metamod coz I often use either though the metamod
that came along his installer is the best one and most stable for all amx mod x plugins I've used
so far.

Anyway will download this too seems really good for online play though I really hate those kids online coz either their
too good or just using hacks, hacks most of the time hehe.

The older v35 versions will be uploaded into torrent soon, Also I have torrented an old cs1.1 with bhop included. Be sure to check out the history of the good old Counter-Strike.

EDIT: v35 is now on torrent, you can download it there.

-- Edit --

Added to the torrent Non-Steam CS1.6 v24, small improvements over the 23b. Now with the startup music removed and replaced the masterserver list to setti.info.

If you already have v23b then you won't need this version unless you want to play P47 servers only or you want the convenience of able to play non-steam servers without doing anything.

Amxmodx will work upto v1.81, the new version will NOT work here.

It's now available on torrent, links have been updated so be sure to get it there.

-- Edit --

Updated the P48 4554 version with improved bots, a lower revision of the REVOLUTiON Emulator which uses 9.81 R4 now. The file name is different between the old and the new one I recommend that you download the new release as it also contains an update of the master server to use setti now.

Images have been added to Counter-Strike 1.5 release to demonstrate what the game looks like as well as a viewable demo for Counter-Strike 1.1

My apologies for the Protocol v42 Release, upon further testing the game is known to crash after a disconnect from a hosted game or possibly from a dedicated server, I have now implemented back the REVOLUTiON Emulator 9.85 for stability as well as fixed the placements for the hostages with the bots. Amxmodx still works so theres no reason to worry about this Version 2 release which I recommend that you download, if you have downloaded the old version please remove it and redownload this version again, again apologies.

Torrent links are updated so download the Version 2 of Protocol 48 Build 4554.
