Good, I will start practising this week end.
What is the best way to play it ? Keyboard, pad or racing wheel ::P ? Man, that would be a good reason to use my G27 again.

I would never dare to put such a wheel on a 1998 game, especially this one, which is 100% arcade. I mean you can try, but I doubt it's gonna work out as expected.
I'm playing on my x360 controller, Ress is playing on keyboard, both are equally good for this game.

I didn't expect it to be compatible with my wheel  I may try it for fun however.
Thank you for running this tournament, I hope everything goes well.
I just remembered I had NFS Porsche Challenge back in the days.

EDIT : I saw that some cars are unlockable.
You may add some rules about using default cars only and some class restriction (only A)

There's no restriction in Class in this tournament. You can pick the CLK or the Vette, that's 100% up to each player.
Type "allcars" on your keyboard to unlock....all cars, and "empire" to unlock Empire City.

We will post this kind of info in our PMs to the participants so we don't have anyone feeling cheated.

Edit: Added to OP, thanks Waats. :)

Thank you for your explanations. You can add this to the first post if you want.
It will prevent people to ask this again.

Thank you for helping me out here, I want to make this as clear as possible.
We will send instructions on how to setup the race (remove traffic, choose laps etc.), and the codes I posted above in the PM that all participants will receive.
The lobby description and password that will be used will be included in said PM.

I know, right. MnSXx cheated a bit, as he asked a bunch of people in private before posting this. Also Waats, I think I made a big mistake putting ours into Off Topic. And apparently, there's a racing game crowd here, while the CS 1.6 crowd mostly already left with older user generations. There doesn't even seem to be much of a CS:GO community here, so the only CS thing left is the URL.
Oh, and CS has much bigger potential for skill gaps than an arcade racer, so with CS, you already only get those who think they are decent enough.

Banned.

And we now have a big problem. I've been running some tests with a participant who's located outside of Europe and America and there's an unfixable lag/stuttering problem.
Even when we tested with an intermediate host the game was still in an unplayable state; we have a ping of 600ms.

I'm not really sure on what course of action to take here.

As a potential host, I have to say that have a slow bandwidth.

You either have to split the tournament in regions or exclude people like we did in the CS tournament.

ATTENTION, EVERYONE HAS TO READ THIS

Ok, after talking about this with RessourectoR, I've decided to the following:

All participants must have a ping lower than 200 on Europe(Frankfurt) in [[Please login to see this link.]].

Please make sure to test your ping and report back, sorry for this terrible inconvenience.

Edit: For the record, it's 77ms on my end.
Velldanas has also confirmed via PMs that his ping is 99ms. (We were running tests together)

Just as I feared, not everyone might be able to participate. :(

Yeah, saddens me to take people off the tournament, but it's ultimately for the best of everyone. :(
